Waiter Gets The Best Tip Of His Life- But There’s More To This Story!

Sweet! I got goosebumps when I read this! What a lovely surprise.

Rather than the suggested 20 percent tip, a customer being waited on by waiter Ben Millar gave him $750. Some of you might not be as sentimental as I can be, but I see this as a modern day Christmas Miracle story. Millar’s girlfriend, Taryn Keith was so moved by the customer’s big heart, she decided to share the post on Facebook.

The note on the receipt explained the reason for the customer’s generosity. “Hopefully, you can get back to Ireland for the holidays,” it read.

The human spirit once again shows us how compassionate Americans rise to the occasion every time when called upon and we do not even need to be recognized for a deed such as this. God will always smile down on situations like this and bless us later.

From Independent:

An Irish waiter working in an American restaurant got an early Christmas gift when a customer tipped him $750 to bring his new family home for the holidays.

Ben Millar, 22, was serving diners in a restaurant in Houston, Texas when he received a very generous gratuity.

His girlfriend Taryn Keith, 21, who is eight months pregnant, said it couldn’t have happened to a “better guy”.

The Belfast man had been planning on a trip to Ireland once their son, Killian, is born and had been sharing his story with a customer who decided to help him out.
Taryn told Independent.ie that the pair had been chatting about U2.

“The customer informed Ben that he had just been in Ireland to see the band. Ben, jokingly said, ‘Wow, I wish I could go back there for a weekend and visit my family’, thinking nothing of it.”

But when he went to collect the bill he was shocked to discover that the customer had left him a $750 tip, along with a hand-written note which read: “Hopefully, this can get you back to Ireland for the holidays”.

His immediate reaction was “Holy sh**!”

The customer, whose name is Jeffrey, left so fast that Ben never got the chance to thank him for his kind-hearted gesture.

The couple hope that by sharing the story, Jeffrey will see how much his generosity meant to them.

Taryn said that the family hope to visit Ireland when their son Killian is born.

The holidays bring out the very best in people and the more I’ve taken a look at things, the more I understand how this world can be a better place if stories like this are shared on a daily basis.

I hope this beautiful couple has a beautiful life in America. What a great story that should be shared by all. Add your comments below and don’t forget to share this article on Facebook and Twitter.
