It’s just like Hillary Clinton told supporters during one of her high-priced Wall Street speeches – you have to have “both a public and a private position” on policy matters.
The Clintons have a long, long history of talking out both sides of their mouths when it comes to the American people. It’s why we don’t believe anything they say.
Take the following audio clip of former President Bill Clinton’s campaign in 1996, for example. If you didn’t know any better, you might assume Clinton is a staunch conservative – touting marriage between one man and one woman (Defense of Marriage Act), calling for a ban on late-term abortions, and supporting curfews, school uniforms, and expansion of the death penalty for violent criminals.
Even better, the ad was clearly aimed at a social conservative demographic, airing on Christian radio stations in several states.

In an effort to win votes from social conservatives during the 1996 presidential race, Bill Clinton’s re-election campaign ran a controversial radio ad that touted his signing of the Defense of Marriage Act, his role in expanding the death penalty, and his support for a ban on late-term abortions with exceptions.
The ad was reported on extensively at the time and has been referenced in the years after in the context of Clinton’s position on same-sex marriage, but recordings of the spot had been seemingly lost to time — until now. CNN’s KFile has obtained partial audio of the radio ad.
The ad, which aired on Christian radio stations in several states, was a response to then-Republican nominee Bob Dole pointing the finger at Clinton for creating a “moral crisis” in the country.

While the ad shows just how far the Democratic Party as a whole has moved to the left on issues like same-sex marriage and criminal justice, Bill and Hillary Clinton’s past positions on these issues have proven to be a hurdle for Hillary Clinton as she makes her case to younger, more liberal voters — particularly among supporters of Bernie Sanders, many of whom view the Clintons as centrists who are willing to compromise progressive values to cut deals in Washington.
The ad was eventually pulled for being “too offensive” to the gay community.
So when exactly did Hillary “evolve” on her position regarding marriage?
New emails provided by Wikileaks show that even as late as April of 2015, Clinton and her campaign were unwilling to commit to same-sex marriage, instead preferring to punt on the matter.

In the series of email exchanges, a Buzzfeed reporter notes Hillary’s history of waffling on the subject of same-sex marriage, prefacing the question by saying, “Previously Sec. Clinton has been ambiguous, to my knowledge, on whether she believes same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marriage.”
The question is then asked, “Does Sec. Clinton believe states can ban same-sex couples from marrying, or does she believe such bans are unconstitutional?”
They even suggest using “punt language” specifically to avoid answering.
Again – one public and one private position on everything, unless you just don’t want to commit to something at all!
The Clintons have such a long history of being snakes on policy positions, pandering to whomever they believe will deliver votes and keep them in power, it’s hard to take anything they say seriously.
How could any self-respecting American voter side with people like this?
