Book: Hillary Campaign Decided on ‘Russian Meddling’ Conspiracy 24 Hours After Loss

It’s always amusing to look back at what the pundits were saying about the 2016 presidential race prior to Election Day, because its a reminder of just how wrong the “experts” often are.

Among those confident that a Hillary Clinton victory was as certain as the sun rising tomorrow was Hillary herself. Just weeks before the election The Telegraph ran a story with the following headline that’s absolutely hilarious in hindsight:

Most of us learned the old adage at a young age, that you never count your chickens before they’re hatched – but Hillary did just that. And in reflecting on the results, she’s managed to point the finger at everyone but herself.

In a recent public appearance where she claimed to take “complete personal responsibility” for her loss, she then proceeded to push her Russian conspiracy theory, which has been breathlessly repeated by the liberal media for months on end.

Many people have been asking where such a ridiculous conspiracy came from, since no one can provide a single shred of evidence that Russia “hacked” the election, or what that even means. But now, a new book about the campaign reveals where the conspiracy was born… the Hillary campaign.

The new Clinton campaign tell-all, Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Campaignreveals how Hillary Clinton personally placed blame for her bruising defeat on Russian meddling “within twenty-four hours of her concession speech.”

To quote from the book:

On a phone call with a longtime friend a couple of days after the election, Hillary was much less accepting of her defeat. She put a fine point on the factors she believed cost her the presidency: the FBI (Comey), the KGB (the old name for Russia’s intelligence service), and the KKK (the support Trump got from white nationalists).

But here’s where it gets really good:

“She wants to make sure all these narratives get spun the right way,” a longtime Clinton confidant is quoted as saying.

The book further highlights how Clinton’s Russia-blame-game was a plan hatched by senior campaign staffers John Podesta and Robby Mook, less than “within twenty-four hours.”

More specifically, the Clinton camp launched a two-pronged defense. First, they wanted to argue that alleged Russian hacking was an underreported story this election (when in reality it was all liberals talked about), and then “hammering the media for focusing so intently on the investigation into her e-mail, which had created a cloud over her candidacy.”

You know, that whole email investigation could’ve been avoided quite easily. Allow Jim Carrey to explain…
