President Trump has honored the crew and passengers of United Airlines Flight 93 as “true heroes” who saved America’s Capitol.
The President spoke from the Pennsylvania field in which UA Flight 93 crashed on that September morning back in 2001, and honoued the passengers and crew for standing up against the terrorist threat that engulfed the nation.
Trump: “America Will Always Fight Back”
“The heroes of Flight 93 are an everlasting reminder. No matter the danger, no matter the threat, no matter the odds, America will always rise up, stand tall and fight back,” Trump said.

“The terrorists on Flight 93 had a fourth target in mind. Our nation’s Capitol. They were just 20 minutes away from reaching their sinister objective. The only thing that stood between the enemy and a deadly strike at the heart of American democracy was the courage and resolve of 40 men and women – the amazing passengers and crew of Flight 93,” Trump said.

“When terrorists raced to destroy the seat of our democracy, the 40 on Flight 93 did the most American of things, they took a vote and they acted together,” the President continued. “Together they charged the cockpit. They confronted the pure evil and in their last act on this earth they saved our Capitol. In this Pennsylvania field, the 40 intrepid souls of Flight 93 died as true heroes.”

Let Us Pray For Unity Again
President Trump recalled that before the passengers and crew stormed the cockpit and defeated the terrorists, they prayed together, knowing that they would save many lives, but sacrifice their own in the process.
“They whispered the immortal words, ‘I love you,'” the President said. “Today those words ring out across these sacred grounds and shine down from heaven above.”
During that dark time, the President noted that the nation came together as one. “It was a unity based on love for our families, care for our neighbors, loyalty to our fellow citizens, pride in our great flag, gratitude for our police and first responders, faith in God, and a refusal to bend our will to the depraved forces of violence and intimidation, oppression and evil,” he continued.
Let us hope that today, on Patriot Day, we can still see some of the unity we seem to have lost over the past 19 years. God Bless America.
