Trump’s State Dept Won’t Look for Hillary’s Emails

Then-candidate Donald Trump was constantly pressured to release his tax returns when running, but he had leverage when it came to excuses not to do so.

“I’ll release my tax returns when she releases her 33,000 deleted emails,” Trump told Hillary Clinton in the second presidential debate between the two. It’s incredible that the fact that Hillary deleted emails during the investigation, and didn’t get in any trouble at all – but then again neither did she for sending and receiving classified information on her private email server and lying about it.

It’s clear that there was something on those emails that she didn’t want the investigators or the American public to see, because she used Bleach Bit to delete those emails in a way that, in the words of Trey Gowdy, even God wouldn’t be able to restore.

Will she finally get punished under Trump’s administration? Thus far, his State and Justice Department don’t seem to be budging an inch.

H/T Washington Examiner:

Judicial Watch was hoping that “Team Trump” would also mean team transparency. But the conservative watchdog group was disappointed Monday after State Department lawyers were still insisting — even under their new President Trump-appointed leadership — that they have no intention of trying to find any potential as-yet uncovered Hillary Clinton emails from her time at the department.

At a hearing in Washington on Monday at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the State Department said it will continue to seek a dismissal of Judicial Watch’s case attempting to force them to locate Clinton’s emails.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton complained, “What’s surprising is the Trump Administration is continuing the Obama administration’s legal strategy to obstruct and defend Hillary Clinton’s email practices.” Of course, it’s Trump’s State Department, not Trump himself obstructing a continuation of an investigation into uncovered Hillary emails. Or is it?

The next hearing is scheduled for April 21st, but the State Department is likely to dismiss the case yet again.

Perhaps part of the reason is that the Justice Department hasn’t yet had enough Trump appointees to influence opinion significantly on the issue of Hillary’s email investigation. At least, that’s what millions of Trump voters are hoping is the case.
