Here’s How Soon You’re Going to See Trump’s Border Wall

As a candidate for President, Donald Trump vowed to “build a great wall” that “will go up so fast your head will spin.”

Now, President Trump’s administration has delivered a timetable that frankly … has our heads spinning.

Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly has released what is being called “an ambitious schedule” for construction of the wall on the southern border.

Kelly said he’d like to have the project completed within two years.

Incredible!

Via the Free Beacon:

Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly presented an ambitious schedule for building a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border during an interview Wednesday.

“The wall will be built where it’s needed first, and then it will be filled in. That’s the way I look at it,” Kelly told Fox News. “I really hope to have it done within the next two years.”

Kelly said that the construction project can be expected to begin within a couple months and that he would support a “surge” of resources to be sent to the border so that authorities can process illegal immigrants within weeks versus “600 plus days,” Fox reported.

The urgency of completing the border wall is readily apparent, with border patrol agents reporting that they pick up at least 600 people trying to cross the border into the U.S. illegally on any given day.

President Trump kickstarted his most famous campaign pledge by signing a number of immigration orders last week, one of which included “directing federal resources” towards building the wall.

Aside from federal funding for the wall, Trump’s transition team had been looking at other means to secure the border and control immigration. In December, they made information requests regarding the feasibility of expanding temporary immigrant detention facilities, and seeking details on an aerial surveillance program that President Obama scaled back during his tenure.

In other words, whatever gets the job done.

President Trump is on track to build a border wall that has been discussed by our leaders for many, many years, and do it before he’s even halfway through his first term.

And if there’s anything Trump is known for, it’s for coming in on-time and under budget!
