A boast about his success in criminal justice reform and a jab at “boring” singer John Legend and his “filthy-mouthed wife” Chrissy Teigen led to a very predictable meltdown by the entertainers.
Trump celebrated passage of the bipartisan First Step Act which he signed into law last year, legislation designed to help reduce incarceration rates and allow for earlier releases for non-violent criminals.
The President noted that people like Legend and Tiegen espouse the positives of the reforms, but did little to help make it possible and certainly never gave him credit.
“Now that it is passed, people that had virtually nothing to do with it are taking the praise,” Trump lamented. “Guys like boring musician [John Legend] and his filthy-mouthed wife, are talking now about how great it is – but I didn’t see them around when we needed help getting it passed.”
…..the importance or passage of Criminal Justice Reform. They only talk about the minor players, or people that had nothing to do with it…And the people that so desperately sought my help when everyone else had failed, all they talk about now is Impeaching President Trump!

Made Them Cry Again
This past spring, Legend and Teigen were featured at a Democrat three-day policy retreat where they promptly bashed President Trump and admitted they had to sometimes use comedy even though “we’re crying inside.”
His criminal justice reform jabs made them cry a little inside again, it seems.
Teigen lived up to the President’s description of her by unleashing a foul-mouthed tweet complaining that he didn’t tag her in his post.
lol what a pussy ass bitch. tagged everyone but me. an honor, mister president.

Legend, actually playing the role Teigen described, responded by dragging First Lady Melania Trump into the feud.
“Imagine being president of a whole country and spending your Sunday night hate-watching MSNBC hoping somebody—ANYBODY—will praise you,” Legend said. “Melania, please praise this man. He needs you.”
Nothing says ‘tough guy’ like dragging somebody’s wife into the fray. Also worth noting that Legend consistently blocks Twitter followers who point out his Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Actual Praise For Trump
President Trump’s criminal justice reform efforts have earned him proper praise from some unlikely sources. In his tweet, Trump mentions Van Jones, who spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) this past year, stating the conservative movement is now the “leaders” on criminal justice reform.
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ actor Isaiah Washington thanked President Trump for his support of the “First Step Act,” and slammed Barack Obama for not giving him the time of day when it came to supporting Africa or the ‘black agenda.’
I voted for 44 twice. I even checked my emails in his Senate Office while lobbying for Salone to be given another chance to rebrand. Not once in 8 years was I given any support regarding Africa or the Black Agenda, but 45 invites me to the WH to celebrate the #FirstStepAct ??♂️

Aside from the First Step Act, Trump has promoted other sentencing reforms and hosted a Prison Reform Summit where he sought input from over 100 activists, experts, and policymakers. He also issued a pardon to Alice Marie Johnson, who was serving a life sentence for a first-time, non-violent drug offense, demonstrating his sincerity on the matter.
