Trump Supporters Get Last Laugh on Bill De Blasio in Hilarious Protest

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio promoted his city’s Green New Deal, made a few veiled threats at Donald Trump, and tried to rally supporters on Monday, but it was fans of the President who stole the show.

De Blasio used the scene of the same escalators that Trump used when announcing his candidacy back in 2016 to rail against his environmental policies.

In particular, he took umbrage with the President’s efforts to roll back onerous Obama-era policies that handcuffed businesses, along with his decision to withdraw from the ridiculously economically debilitating Paris Climate agreement.

“His buildings are one of the biggest polluters in New York City,” de Blasio said in his best effort to sound like a mobster. “Cut your emissions or we’ll cut something you really care about.”

MAGA Steals the Show

The highlight of the rally, however, was a group of Trump supporters who blasted loud music, forcing the mayor to shout during his speech, and who rode up and down the escalator behind the crowd flashing signs that said “failed mayor,” “worst mayor ever,” and included a picture of de Blasio’s face on a jackass.

“They’re scared of the truth,” de Blasio said of the protesters. “Anyone that has a problem with saving the planet, I have a problem with them.”

You have a problem alright, but we don’t have long enough to get into all of them.

The Green Dream

One of those problems is the fact that de Blasio is rumored to be pondering a run for the White House, but has modeled his city’s Green New Deal on the back of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ own plan.

Talk about the dumb leading the dumber. If you are so devoid of original ideas that you have to co-opt ideas from a vapid twit like Ocasio-Cortez, then you’re doing something wrong.

“The first of any major city on the Earth to say to building owners, ‘you’ve got to clean up your act, you’ve got to retrofit, you’ve got to save energy,'” de Blasio bragged a month ago. “If you don’t do it by 2030 there will be serious fines, as high as $1 million or more for the biggest buildings.”

2030 is when Ocasio-Cortez has predicted the world will end.

It’s remarkable to hear the mayor of a major city brag about something that will assuredly chase businesses out of the area.

He also claimed the city would be banning glass and steel skyscrapers.

A recent study indicated that such wild and costly moves would result in “no effect” on the Earth’s climate.
