President Donald Trump just reversed his feelings on the North American Treaty Organization (NATO) after he called them out during the presidential campaign.
Some Trump supporters are scratching their heads over Trump’s reversal of now supporting NATO after the Commander-in-chief met with the Secretary General. You can include me in it. I know there are a lot of supporters who will accept whatever he does no matter what. That’s not me.
Trump supporters see NATO as a drain on the American people especially how they deal with situations around the world.

I am glad Trump is flexible. A man in his position can’t be locked into a promise when the screws are constantly turning.

“I said it was obsolete. It’s no longer obsolete,” he said at a press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the White House.
“The secretary general and I had a productive discussion about what more NATO can do in the fight against terrorism,” Trump said. “I complained about that a long time ago, and they made a change, and now they do fight terrorism.”

Trump’s comments during the presidential campaign that NATO was an obsolete organization made a lot of sense to me–after all, the Soviet Union is gone and NATO was formed to defend against the Soviet threat.
