Political Cartoon Exposes How the Media Viciously Twists Trump’s Words

Trump MS-13

Political cartoonist A.F. Branco is out with a new cartoon – this time mocking the media’s unique ability to twist every single thing Donald Trump says against him.

Last week was an odd one for the media, as it ended with many offering feigned support for MS-13, solely for the purpose of disagreeing with a statement made by President Donald Trump.

The media first intentionally twisted a statement that President Trump made, to make it sound like he was referring to immigrants as “animals.” Some outlets claimed that Trump said illegal immigrants were animals. Both comments would obviously be dehumanizing and unprecedented coming from a sitting President – but Trump never made them.

In reality, Trump was answering a question from a member of law enforcement that was stating she doesn’t have enough resources to combat gangs like MS-13. Trump stressed the need to fund law enforcement to aid their fight against the “animals” in MS-13, which is the most dangerous street gang in the U.S.

Only after the media had been exposed to misrepresenting Trump’s remarks did they double down – arguing instead that it’s unacceptable to call anyone an animal. Ironically, MS-13 doesn’t seem to have a problem being called animals, given some of their gang names. “MS-13 are people too” seems like a weird hill for the liberal media to plant their flag on, but you have to admit, the desperation is almost humorous. Despite all the minor things that Fox News criticized Obama over, can you imagine them defending mass murderers, drug dealers, and human traffickers just to spite the man? Of course not – but that’s just what the media did with Trump.

In light of all the ridiculousness, Trump’s White House responded the only way a sane person would and doubled down in defense of their prior comments. (RELATED: White House Doubles Down, Attacks ‘Violent Animals’ in MS-13)

In response to the controversy, the White House issued a press release. The headline? “What you need to know about the violent animals of MS-13.”

Who will the media defend next? Kim Jong-un?
