Donald Trump doesn’t think the support of a former President or a talk show legend are going to help far-left Democrat Stacey Abrams get elected governor of Georgia.
In an interview with the Washington Times, Trump said that neither Barack Obama, who is set to campaign for Abrams Friday evening, nor Oprah Winfrey, who campaigned for her on Thursday, would be enough to lift her to victory.
Abrams is running against Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp in an attempt to become the country’s first black woman governor.
While many would view the endorsements of Oprah and the country’s first black president to be a huge lift, President Trump scoffed at the notion they would have any significant sway.
“Oprah can go and Obama can go, I don’t think it’s going to make a difference,” he predicted.

Trump on Oprah, Abrams
President Trump has been very careful not to disparage Winfrey, noting that he likes her personally and as a businesswoman.
“I was on Oprah’s last week of her show, Oprah liked me very much,” the President reminded reporters following an immigration speech. “I’ve always liked Oprah. Oprah’s very good.”
Still, she’s throwing her political weight behind a woman in Abrams who he believes is too extreme to be governor.
“She is not qualified to be governor of Georgia,” Trump added. “Take a look at her past, take a look at her history, at what she wants to do. That state will be in trouble quite quickly.”

Abrams is a far-left extremist
Abrams has made it clear that she’d also like to remove other Civil War and Confederate symbols in the state, including the iconic carving on Stone Mountain just outside Atlanta.
She is what the Kemp campaign also described as “too extreme for Georgia.”
For her part, Abrams has provided some pretty significant examples of what makes her extreme and unqualified.
- She wants Georgians to pay higher taxes, even saying it is necessary.
- She criticized the agricultural and hospitality industries, saying they weren’t worth working in as an employee.
- She wants President Trump impeached.
- She supports socialism.
While President Trump is being gentle with Oprah, Vice President Mike Pence blasted her as a “Hollywood liberal.”
Fox News host Laura Ingraham was a little tougher, calling Oprah out for “race-baiting” during her speech and adding that Winfrey is “better than that.”
The talk queen has a history of race-baiting, having once said old white people “have to die” before progress can be achieved against racism.

Will Oprah run for President in 2020?
Many view Oprah’s presence on the political stage as a possible prelude to a 2020 presidential campaign. To the crowd’s dismay, she continued to insist she will not run.
“I want to make it very clear to all the press – everyone – I’m not here making some grand stand and I’m thinking about running for myself. I don’t want to run,” she said.
“I’m not here to test any waters,” Oprah added. “I don’t wanna go in those waters.”
She has claimed the only thing that could change her mind would be a sign from God.
