President Trump found himself in hot water yesterday after his early morning Memorial Day tweet set off yet another round of media criticism.

Here’s what Trump tweeted:

Critics immediately pounced on the showboating nature of the tweet, which highlights many of the laudable accomplishments of the Trump Administration, but doesn’t properly emphasize the sacrifice of the men and women who have died in combat. Given how much President Trump often praises the troops, the tweet was slightly out of character. (RELATED: Trump Makes a Special Trip to Visit Section 60 Gold Star Families).

The responses pulled no punches…

Yikes! Talk about harsh. Of course, hardly a peep was made when former President Barack Obama tweeted a picture honoring Memorial Day that featured himself in it.

We know liberals have double standards. Regardless, Trump may have gotten the message. During the laying of the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, he delivered a somber yet powerful message to all who have sacrificed their lives for American freedom. There were no self-congratulations here. Just a heartfelt tribute to fallen heroes. Take a look:

So powerful! Here was the best part of the speech: “To every family member of the fallen, I want you to know that the legacy of those you’ve lost does not fade with time but grows only more powerful. Their legacy does not, like a voice in the distance, become a faint echo but instead their legacy grows deeper.”

Amen to that.
