We knew it was bound to happen.
President Trump finally addressed Christine Blasey Ford, the psychology professor who accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her at a high school party. The entire city of Washington has been waiting with bated breath to see what Trump would say, given his proclivity for provocation.
Well, it appears we all just got our wish.
Earlier this week, President Trump said he was open to delaying Kavanaugh’s confirmation in order to find out more information about the accuser and the alleged sexual assault. (RELATED: President Trump Is Open to a Delay on Kavanaugh Confirmation Following Abuse Allegations.) Trump’s was a reasonable request: if the accuser was serious, it was worth waiting.
But, Ford has been wishy-washy about testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee. She vacillated between wanting to testify, then not wanting to testify, then being willing to testify with ridiculous demands. Her erratic behavior has many questioning the veracity of her story, which, she admits, is still fuzzy after over three decades.
Now President Trump is making his own demands. And they come with a twist:
Judge Brett Kavanaugh is a fine man, with an impeccable reputation, who is under assault by radical left wing politicians who don’t want to know the answers, they just want to destroy and delay. Facts don’t matter. I go through this with them every single day in D.C.

I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents. I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn date, time, and place!

Trump then followed up with:
The radical left lawyers want the FBI to get involved NOW. Why didn’t someone call the FBI 36 years ago?

The President knows what he’s doing making this request. It’s the same tactic Ford is using to impugn the reputation of Brett Kavanaugh. You can’t prove a negative. Kavanaugh can’t prove he didn’t assault Ford because Ford can still claim it happened. Likewise, Ford can’t produce police documents because she didn’t go to the police after the incident occurred.
Trump is asking her to produce documents that don’t exist, or, at least, likely don’t exist.
Democrats will hate this kind of dismissive request, but all Trump is doing is playing Ford’s game. She is making unsubstantiated claims. Trump wants proof.
Is that really so much to ask?
