Trump Floats Third Term To Trigger Media, Will They Fall For It Again?

On Monday night, during a rally for his supporters in North Carolina, President Trump trolled the media and triggered Democrats floating a third term for his administration.

Barack Obama did the same thing and the media looked the other way but you can be sure they go after Trump as if he were going to do something to hurt the country. If you aren’t a Trump supporter or a middle of a road independent political body, you would think Trump was serious. Yet, most of us see this as a dig at the media to fill their fake news segments.

He’s A Cool Guy! President Donald Trump Has Forgiven His Fired Aide, Madeleine Westerhout

Trump brought up this extended stay at the White House idea when he spoke about an earlier meeting with Gianni Infantino, president of the world soccer governing body FIFA. The U.S. is set to host the 2026 men’s championship, the largest event in global sports, in conjunction with Canada and Mexico looks to be the biggest event in the world.

Trump: “We’ve got a problem – it’s in 2026. I said, well wait a minute. Under the normal rules, I’ll be out in 2024. So we may have to go for an extra term, OK?”

Trump: “Oh they’re going crazy, they’re going crazy. Tomorrow you’re going to see headlines: Trump wants an extra term! I told you, I told you. He wants it.”

“He wants an extra term, ladies and gentlemen. We told you! We told you he’s a dictator, we told you!”

“Nah, nah. I’m only kidding. I’m only kidding.”

If you are up on civics, you know that the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, ratified in 1951, set a two-term limit for the presidency and Trump doesn’t look to break the law like his predecessor.

The reason for the joke is because of the soccer champion is one of the times the world comes together and stops what they are doing to watch their country compete on a global stage.

Trump: “It’s the biggest sporting event in the world and we’ve got it, and it’s great. We’re working it also with Mexico, Canada, giving them some of the games. We’re going to have a great relationship with the World Cup. It’s a big deal.”

Infantino told U.S. reporters that it would be not just the world’s biggest sports event but also the biggest social event. When you expect more than four billion people around the world watching these games, that’s a huge party.

Preliminary plans have the U.S. hosting 60 games in ten cities including all the while Canada and Mexico will host ten games each.

The decision to break this up, as I just alerted you, is the first time in history that the competition will have been shared between three countries and let’s not forget the expanded roster of 48 national teams fight for the trophy.

I plan on watching, do you? What did you think about President Trump trolling the media with this third term nugget?
