Here’s The Truth About The Crying Girl On The Cover Of Time

Trump crying immigrant girl fake
MCALLEN, TX - JUNE 12: A two-year-old Honduran asylum seeker cries as her mother is searched and detained near the U.S.-Mexico border on June 12, 2018 in McAllen, Texas. The asylum seekers had rafted across the Rio Grande from Mexico and were detained by U.S. Border Patrol agents before being sent to a processing center for possible separation. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is executing the Trump administration's "zero tolerance" policy towards undocumented immigrants. U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions also said that domestic and gang violence in immigrants' country of origin would no longer qualify them for political asylum status. A photo showing a crying child became a viral sensation for media outlets spreading lies about President Trump’s illegal immigration policies, even being featured and photoshopped alongside a towering image of the President for a Time Magazine cover.

As per usual, the story behind the image doesn’t match the lies being peddled by an anti-American, open-borders media. (RELATED: MYTH-BUSTED! Viral Image Falsely Claims ICE Confiscating Rosaries from Illegals).

The little girl, it turns out, was never at any point separated from her mother. How do we know? The father revealed the truth.

The little two-year-old was captured by a Getty photographer as she cried at a facility in Texas, while Border Control agents searched her mother. The mother, it turns out, essentially kidnapped the child from her family to bring her into the United States.

It took no time at all for the media to spread the photo far and wide. CNN declared, “The crying girl is quickly becoming the human face of President Donald Trump’s new ‘zero-tolerance’ immigration policy, which has resulted in separations of undocumented parents and kids.”

Time Magazine even created a cover that photoshopped the girl alongside a menacing image of a much taller President Trump.

“Welcome to America,” it is captioned.

The intention was clear – Trump made this girl cry by taking her Mommy away.

In reality, though, that isn’t the case.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, the father of the little girl reports that his daughter was never separated from her mother.

“Denis said his wife and daughter were never separated by border control agents and remain together,” the report reads.

In fact, as is the point in these cases, the mother put her own child in danger by bringing her into the U.S against the father’s wishes, leaving he and three other children behind.

That’s not a good parent.

“I don’t have any resentment for my wife,” the girl’s father said, “but I do think it was irresponsible of her to take the baby with her in her arms because we don’t know what could happen.”

It doesn’t matter to the media that the adults entering illegally are the problem for putting children in danger. It doesn’t matter that the girl was portrayed as the face of the family separation crisis even though she wasn’t separated. And it doesn’t matter that the image, while real in what it captured, is fake without proper context and facts.

Time Magazine got its viral image and the President will forever be portrayed, using that cover, as a monster. Facts be damned.
