During the final presidential debate Thursday night,  President Donald Trump claimed that his Democratic opponent Joe Biden has said in the past he supported banning fracking, despite Biden saying now that he has never supported a ban.

Biden insisted he has never supported banning fracking and challenged Trump to prove it – so he did.

Biden said, “I have never said I oppose fracking.” Trump replied, “You said it on tape!”

“Show the tape,” Biden shot back. “Put it on your website. The fact of the matter is he’s flat lying.”

Team Trump sent out this tweet moments after that exchange.

Within a matter of moments, Trump’s team tweeted out a video of Biden making the remarks.

Joe Biden Says He Would End The Oil Industry

President Trump and Biden also tangled over whether or not the Democratic presidential nominee would shut down the oil industry.

Trump asked Biden, “Would you close down the oil industry?

Biden replied, “I would transition from the oil industry, yes.

Oh, that’s a big statement,” Trump replied.

“It is a big statement,” Biden said.

NBC News debate moderator Kristen Welker asked Biden, “Why would you do that?”

“Because the oil industry pollutes,” Biden said. “It has to be replaced by renewable energy over time.”

“And I’d stop giving federal subsidies to the oil industry,” Biden added. “He won’t give federal subsidies to solar and wind. Why are we giving it to the oil industry?”

Trump responded, “We actually do give it to solar and wind. And that’s maybe the biggest statement, in terms of business, because basically what he’s saying is he’s going to destroy the oil industry.”

Trump then made sure states that would be affected by a President Biden’s oil policies was hearing all this.

“Will you remember that, Texas?” Trump said, adding, “Will you remember that, Pennsylvania? Oklahoma? Ohio?”

Will they remember? We will find out on November 3rd.

CNN (!) Fact Checks Joe

Even CNN got in on the action. Both on TV (below) and in an article, the news station reported: Fact check: Biden falsely claims he never opposed fracking.
