Chalk up yet another big economic victory for Donald Trump – even before he’s set foot in the White House. Trump isn’t even officially president for another month yet, and he’s saved hundreds of jobs through his negotiation with Carrier, and has now saved taxpayers some serious cash thanks to a new deal.
The President-elect has made reigning in out-of-control government spending a top priority, specifically citing the Department of Defense and their contract with Boeing to build Air Force One.

Trump took one look at the exorbitant $4 billion price tag earlier this month and demanded that Boeing cut costs or he would cancel the order.
Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!

Well guess what? Trump asked and he shall receive – But the American taxpayer may be the biggest beneficiary!
Boeing is going to do exactly as they’ve been asked, vowing to build a more affordable Air Force One.
Via Fox News:
The CEO of Boeing told President-elect Donald Trump Wednesday that his company can build a new Air Force One for less than originally quoted — after Trump complained about the cost.
Earlier this month, Trump made headlines for blasting the company on Twitter for alleged cost overruns with the new fleet of Air Force One planes.
Trump called on the government to cancel the contract and called the supposed $4 billion price tag out of control.
Boeing’s Dennis Muilenburg, who met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., addressed the media after the meeting and said, “We’re going to get it done for less than that, and we’re committed to working together to make sure that happens.”
Anthony Scaramucci, a top adviser to the President-elect, called Boeing’s announcement a “big win for taxpayers.”

Scaramucci said Trump is sending an even more important message to the federal government as well as the American people.
President-elect Trump is sending a powerful message prior to even taking office: government waste will no longer be tolerated at any level

During the campaign season, Trump vowed that “We (America) will have so much winning if I get elected that you may get bored with the winning.”
He may be onto something. After the Carrier deal and now the Boeing negotiations, the American worker and taxpayer have done more winning in the last month than we’ve done in the previous eight years.

Be sure to have the ‘BOING BOING’ officials be on it when it is given the first few test flights. Be sure that at least one of those flights is in rough weather.
THAT last one GOES TO FRANK’S COMMENT VERRRRRRRRRRY FUNNNNY!!!
HAHAHA, FUNNNNY, i agreeeeeeeeeeee INDEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!!
How many lies and misdirection’s can you tell in a single sitting?
In his FIRST days as President Obama saved the ENTIRE American auto industry, over the strenuous, hysterical, objections of Republicans. General Motors, Ford, Chrysler.
He refused to allow them to fold and now they are ALL providing good paying jobs with a future for the American working class. BTW, ALL the money lent to the auto industry has been repaid.., AHEAD of schedule.
BTW2, we were losing 800,000 jobs A MONTH under our last Republican president. How are we doing now in NUMBERS, (not spin)?
Did you forget, or did you count on all the rest of us to forget?
President-Elect Trump Just Gave America The Best Christmas Gift EVER!
He’s quitting ?!?!
You must be worried about your welfare check!!!!!!!
The idea is to cut stupid costs so that the money can be spent in a wiser way and so that we get more for our dollar.
I retired after 20 years in the USAF and then worked for an aerospace contractor as an engineer and middle manager. One reason for “overruns” are unreasonable expectations on the side of the military. The specifications drive the costs. Most program managers in the USAF do not have contract management experience. In fact, they are from the operational air force such as fighter pilots or other “operators.” The government spends much money to train the operators but do not recognize that the procurement system also needs procurement and “STEM” trained personnel to recognize the flaws in the designs. I have a Ph.D. in physics and the contracts shuttered when I walked in the room because I was able to see flaws based on my background. The “operational trained” supervision basically told me to shut up and go away. I retired as a major because the technically trained personnel were systematically passed over. Want lower cost systems, train and promote more technically trained personnel to the upper levels of management. Finally, one of the reasons the costs rise is that you do need to pay for people to sit around until they are needed. If you fire the people who designed the system, then they are not available to fix the problems as they come up. The government is penny wise and pound foolish when it comes to support. Everyone working needs a time charge. If there are only a few jobs then the jobs will become unacceptably expensive. I claim it would be better to have the engineers designing updated weapons systems than sitting around doing nothing or being fired. Keep the design groups together such as is done by the Russians. I applaud Mr. Trump for trying to get the costs down on the weapons systems. I wish him the best of success. However, his experts need to rethink the bureaucracy to actually have any success.
Once again Political Insider falls for a fake news story. There was never a contract for Boeing to be paid $4 million for the new Air Force One. All th epresident of Boeing did was promise to to charge what he never intended to charge in the first place. And you and Comrade trump fell for this Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaa
PJ, you’re correct. The cost of the new AF 1s are not $4 Billion, but $3.7billion. Close enough for government work. Essentially, Trump was correct. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2016/dec/06/donald-trump/fact-checking-donald-trumps-tweet-air-force-one-bo/
OK Pj, you make these idiotic statements and that’s it. Now, let me see your research. Give me the names of the publications in which you read these facts. While your at it, what do YOU do for a living?
Like Lucasred the only work he does is walk to the mail box to pick up his welfare check!!!!
heh, heh, heh. luuuuuuuuuuve it!!!! TAKE that Pj. Some one Smarter than YOU!!!! & Out Smarted ,You!!
Yes, Boeing has lowered the cost, but it is forcing Boeing to lay off workers! How’s that for “Trump’s program to create more jobs”?
WTF are you talking about? What’s your source of info? You think ONE single contract has caused Boeing to cut jobs? Do some research, Boeing has been suggesting lay-offs for end of 2016, start of 2017, for the past 3 months! They initially listed layoffs in August of this year! Has absolutely nothing to do with the AF1 contract, and they’re primarily trimming fat off of management/admin jobs!! I understand you libs are still butt-hurt from the election and feel the need to lash out, but this IS the BS that’s negatively affecting the American people! You really should be a more responsible citizen!
http://www.seattletimes.com/business/boeing-aerospace/boeing-to-issue-100-layoff-notices-here-friday/
These layoffs are under your boy Obama, has NOTHING to do with Trump! All I can say is, WINNING!
YEAH!! GO TRUMP!!!!
~JOHN~ said dat
The last business guy I remember being in government was McNamara- another doofus who tried to run the government like a business. Repugnants think everything has to be a profit so they accept seconds and inferior products resulting in higher payments or poor outcomes from the products.
Love of money should be a felony.
adlerman……….Sounds like you are condemning Trump for saving American taxpayer dollars, but have no problem with Boeing ripping off taxpayers! You’re letting your political bias addle you thinking on the ‘love of money’ thing!
No Bob, Alderman is upset because the next thing Trump is going to cut his Alderman’s welfare check.
hahahaha/ yeah yeahhhhhh. TAKE THAT, luuuuuve this GUY!! MY Kinda ,GUY!!!
If Trump wanted to give America a great present he would put down the entire Democratic party in all offices in America so they can no longer harm America with their IGNORANCE and STUPIDITY. That would be the greatest gift he could ever give America.
Jesse
Sounds like you had trouble with a government office so you want to shut the whole country down. Deplorables need help but they won’t get it from trump- he prefers smart people.
Adlerman, He has trouble with all G. offices, just like the rest of us deplorable’s.
