We all saw this coming.
Donald Trump spent an entire year campaigning for the presidency by hitting back at anyone who dared criticize him. Raised in Queens, and a titan of the dicey and dangerous Manhattan real-estate industry, Trump wasn’t raised to be a soft-skinned nebbish. He was brought up to be a tough-as-nails counterpuncher.
And punch back Trump does. In glorious, shameless fashion.
Yesterday, we reported on former Vice President Joe Biden’s tough-guy comments about the President. During a speech at the University of Miami, Biden said the following: “They asked me would I like to debate this gentleman, and I said no. I said, ‘If we were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him.'”
Whoa. Biden just totally lost his mind. https://t.co/DHSoTmff0B

Hey, what was it Michelle Obama said about them going high when we deplorables go low?
I am really loving the new show, @ForThePeopleABC! So very cool how they just throw in the line “when they go low, we go high”! Thanks @MichelleObama! One of my fave quotes of all time. I hope this show sticks – it’s a good one! #ForThePeople #America pic.twitter.com/p72bHtu0RK

We certainly knew Trump wasn’t about to take that lying down. He just gave Biden a dose of his own medicine over Twitter. This is how a New Yorker talks to someone just a tad too lippy:
Crazy Joe Biden is trying to act like a tough guy. Actually, he is weak, both mentally and physically, and yet he threatens me, for the second time, with physical assault. He doesn’t know me, but he would go down fast and hard, crying all the way. Don’t threaten people Joe!

We here at The Political Insider don’t condone violence or school-yard antics between adults. But in this situation, Trump can cite Rambo as his justification for lashing out:
Joe Biden is reportedly considering a presidential run in 2020. It’ll be interesting to see how he talks to Trump once he’s on the campaign trail.
