Attorney General William Barr said Tuesday that the Department of Justice has found no evidence of widespread voter fraud.
Barr told the Associated Press that the leads followed by U.S. Attorneys and FBI agents have not found any substantive widespread fraud occurring.
The statement comes after several months of criticism from President Trump over Barr’s inaction on Russiagate.
Pres. Trump’s false claims of rampant ballot fraud were debunked by his own Justice Department on Tuesday.

Barr: DOJ Has Discovered Nothing That Would Change The Election Outcome
Barr said, “To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election.”
The Attorney General also specifically addressed claims that voting machines might have changed the results.
Barr said, “There’s been one assertion that would be systemic fraud and that would be the claim that machines were programmed essentially to skew the election results.
“And the DHS and DOJ have looked into that, and so far, we haven’t seen anything to substantiate that.”
Barr did note that the DOJ’s investigation was separate from Trump’s legal team’s pending lawsuits in several key states.
Civil proceedings are not affected by the DOJ’s findings.
Trump’s Legal Team Responds
Trump’s legal team responded to Barr with their own statement.
“With all due respect to the Attorney General, there hasn’t been any semblance of a Department of Justice investigation,” the statement read.

It continued, “We have gathered ample evidence of illegal voting in at least six states, which they have not examined. We have many witnesses swearing under oath they saw crimes being committed in connection with voter fraud.”
“As far as we know, not a single one has been interviewed by the DOJ,” the statement continued.

“The Justice Department also hasn’t audited any voting machines or used their subpoena powers to determine the truth.”

Team Trump: Barr Is Not The Last Word On Voter Fraud
Team Trump vowed to continue pursuing “the truth” through legal and state legislature means.
“Nonetheless, we will continue our pursuit of the truth through the judicial system and state legislatures, and continue toward the Constitution’s mandate and ensuring that every legal vote is counted and every illegal vote is not,” the statement insisted.
Trump’s legal team emphasized one last time that Barr was not the last word on this issue.
“Again, with the greatest respect to the Attorney General, his opinion appears to be without any knowledge or investigation of the substantial irregularities and evidence of systemic fraud,” the statement noted.
