Despite the large number of protesters descending on Washington, DC this past weekend protesting their new President over a “war on women”, Donald Trump’s approval rating continues to climb.
A significant number of voters now approve of the way Trump is handling the new job, at 57% while only 43% disapprove.
Breaking down the numbers further, strong approval of the president’s job performance is also rising with 42% of voters saying they strongly approve while only 33% strongly disapprove. Those numbers are up and down respectively, meaning admiration for Trump is rising while hardcore disdain is falling.

The low approval ratings of President Trump in the week before his inauguration have been replaced with approval by a majority of voters, The Rasmussen Reports polling firm reported Tuesday.
Rasmussen’s daily presidential tracking poll for Tuesday showed that 57 percent of likely U.S. voters approved of Mr. Trump’s job performance, and 43 percent disapproved. To break it down further, 42 percent strongly approve of the way he is performing and 33 percent strongly disapprove, Rasmussen reported.
The change in strong feelings is best illustrated in Rasmussen’s approval index history, which shows a strong surge following the protests this past weekend.
In addition to these improving numbers for President Trump, Rasmussen states that “Thirty-eight percent (38%) of voters think the country is heading in the right direction, the highest level of confidence in four years.”
One of the reasons cited is Trump’s withdrawal from the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), but his whirlwind of other activity could also be improving his numbers as he continues to implement numerous policies that Americans agree with. Policies including a willingness to renegotiate NAFTA, approval of the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines, and setting the wheels in motion on a border wall, are all objectives he ran on.
If President Trump continues to march through his campaign promises and improve the lives of every American, then the protest marches will continue to diminish.
