Throughout the 2016 campaign, liberals falsely claimed that President Donald J. Trump didn’t respect women, given some controversial comments he made in the past. Well, if his latest appointment doesn’t silence liberals, then nothing will.

President Donald J. Trump’s support for America’s military is well-known, and he has actively reached out to members of our armed services to serve in his administration.

Now, Trump has just announced that Heather Wilson will be his nominee to serve as Secretary of the Air Force. If she is approved by the Senate, she will be the first Air Force Academy graduate to serve as Secretary.

Ms. Wilson is a former Congresswoman who represented New Mexico’s 1st District from 1998-2009, she was also the Republican Party’s nominee for Senate in 2012.

From The Daily Caller:

In a statement released by the White House, Trump said he believes that Wilson — the president of the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and former Congresswoman — will “make an outstanding Secretary of the Air Force” because of her “distinguished military service, high level of knowledge, and success in so many different fields.”

“Our debt to America’s men and women in uniform is eternal,” Trump said. “Their service is an inspiration to us all and we honor their service and sacrifice.”

Wilson, who was also a Rhodes Scholar, said she “will do her best, working with our men and women in the military, to strengthen American air and space power to keep the country safe.”

“America and our vital national interests continue to be threatened.”

So far, President Trump has selected three military officials to serve in his cabinet, and Ms. Wilson would continue Trump’s tradition of nominating individuals with experience who can provide hands-on expertise in their respective White House roles.

The nomination of Ms. Wilson confirms that President Trump supports our military and believes that our military should be lead by individuals who have both served and have the respect of their peers.
