Gowdy Slams Strzok While Dems Cheer Claim That Anti-Trump Bias Is Rooted in ‘Patriotism’

Nowhere was the partisan and obstructionist nature of the Democrat Party more obviously displayed than at this morning’s congressional hearing with Peter Strzok.

While Republicans were seeking and demanding answers for the FBI agent’s damning biased anti-Trump text messages, Democrats were stalling, trying to prevent him from answering, and actively cheering some of his testimony. Strzok played key roles in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s original Russia probe as well as the Hillary Clinton email investigation while referring to Trump in vulgar terms and openly discussing that his agency would “stop” his Presidency.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) got involved in a testy exchange with the combative interviewee very early on.

Gowdy opened with comments indicating that Strzok’s vast text messages with his lover, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, demonstrated “textbook bias” against President Trump, something that should never be glaringly apparent for someone involved in an investigation of that person.

That textbook bias, however, in Strzok’s estimation, was not what got him kicked off the Mueller investigation. It was the ‘perception’ of bias.

“Your testimony is: Bob Mueller did not kick you off because of the content of your texts; he kicked out you off because of some appearance he was worried about,” Gowdy said.

“I’m stating to you it is not my understanding that he kicked me off because of any bias — that it was done based on the appearance,” Strzok responded. “If you want to represent what you said accurately I’m happy to answer that question, but I don’t appreciate what was originally said being changed.”

“I don’t give a damn what you appreciate Agent Strzok,” Gowdy fired back. “I don’t appreciate having an FBI agent with an unprecedented level of animus working on two major investigations during 2016.”

Strzok remained defiant through much of his testimony, thanks in no small part to the obvious assist he was getting from Democrats.

He scowled, rolled his eyes, and refused to answer some of Gowdy’s questions citing advice he received from FBI lawyers.

Committee chair Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) advised, “Mr. Strzok, you are under subpoena and are required to answer the question.”

Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) defended the witness.

“This demand puts Mr. Strzok in an impossible position,” Nadler said. “He is still an employee of the FBI. And FBI Counsel has instructed him not to answer the question. If we have a problem with this policy, we should take it up with the FBI, not badger Mr. Strzok.”

Goodlatte suggested if Strzok is unwilling to answer questions he may have to recess the hearing and hold him in contempt.

Democrats continued by expressing points of order in order to stall Strzok’s testimony during the hearing.

None of these political maneuverings are surprising. This is what Democrats do – object, obstruct and avoid the truth – no matter the situation, in an ill-advised attempt to take down the President.

Where their bias was slightly remarkable, however, was in watching them actually cheer Strzok’s statements that his hatred for President Trump and his supporters was rooted in “deep patriotism.”

Yes, he actually said that, and yes, they actually cheered.

Democrats are actively showing the entire nation that they have no vested interest in finding out the truth about the Mueller witch hunt.

They are applauding bias and by extension, the witch hunt to delegitimize a man the American people elected.

And it is disgusting.

Given that Peter Strzok clearly had it out for President Trump, one has to wonder why he is still employed at the FBI at all. He clearly is not an objective investigator and has no place working in government anymore.
