Many women in Islamic communities are not willing to accept the terror and oppression promoted by the Islamic State (ISIS).
Now, we’re seeing a new team of Kurdish women band together… And instead of wearing burqas, they wear military uniforms and carry deadly AK-47s!
Known as the “women peshmerga of the 2nd Battalion,” the group consists of more than 550 women fighters who are lead in battle by Col. Nadida Rashid. And they are ready to DESTROY the Islamic State (ISIS)!
The soldiers have not yet faced the Islamic State since the terrorists seized control of towns in Kurdistan, but the group has carried out in-depth exercises in the scorching heat of Sulaymaniyah to prepare themselves for battle.
“It’s an honor to be part of a modern Muslim country that allows women to defend the homeland,” said an unidentified mother who has been a soldier since the battalion’s creation in 1996.
“We enjoy the same treatment as male fighters do as required by law.”
And one soldier explained just why ISIS is so afraid of them!
A 27-year-old female Kurdish fighter named Tekoshin fighting in northern Iraq recently gloated to AFP: “I think [ISIS] were more afraid of us than of the men.” The Kalashnikov-toting fighter added: “They believe they’ll go to hell if they die at a woman’s hands.”
These women are tough as nails and are ready to defeat terrorism. Incredible! They deserve our prayers…
