The Political Insider’s Wayne Dupree Talks About Meeting With ‘Natural Leader’ President Trump

Star contributor to The Political Insider and well-known conservative commentator, Wayne Dupree, took part in a roundtable discussion with President Trump last week, praising him as a “natural leader.”

The meeting, held at the White House, involved Secretary of HUD Ben Carson and several other leaders in the black community.

The President praised Dupree as “a great voice in the black community” and noted the two had been friends for quite some time.

“His show is a phenomenon – It’s a great success,” Trump declared. “And people listen, and they respect what you have to say.”

Natural Leader

Dupree noted that the President has been a “natural leader,” something our nation truly needs at this moment in time as the nation grapples with the convergence of a historic pandemic and racial unrest not seen in decades.

“I think he’s a natural leader,” he said. “And I mean, honestly, I have supported him ever since he decided to run for president.”

But, Dupree insists, despite the tremendous successes and strides made by the administration, the country needs even more right now.

“I’m glad that he [Trump] has changed things here in D.C.,” he related. “But my daughters and my son and my family, they want to see a lot more positive things coming from the White House.”

And Dupree knows the one man capable of delivering was the man sitting next to him.

“They want to see your leadership and they also want to see things change for the better in this country,” he continued. “I know you can do it. I know you can do it.”

Dupree’s Thoughts

Wayne sat down with our very own Creative Director, Brett Smith, to provide details of his visit to the White House.

He spoke of the excitement in getting an invitation to the White House and then having to be vetted all within a very tight timeframe before the meeting.

“What really was the cherry on top of the ice cream was sitting beside him,” relayed Dupree. “Wait a minute … the president’s gonna be sitting right there, right you know … Oh man, I’m going to be sitting right beside him?”

He also reiterated the President’s need to connect with minorities – not just with words and economic successes, but with physical interaction – during this time.

“He physically needs to be in connection with minorities, because there’s a whole lot of minorities out there especially on these social media boards that really do support President Trump,” he intimated. “I’ve seen it.”
