Texas state lawmaker Representative Briscoe Cain has a controversial message for gun-grabber Beto O’Rourke – “My AR is ready for you.”
O’Rourke celebrated an applause line at the Democratic debate Thursday night by tweeting a similar message in which he declared, “Hell yes, we’re gonna take your AR-15.”
He added the AK-47 to the list of weapons he’d confiscate in his mandatory ‘buyback’ program, stating “We’re not going to allow it to be used against a fellow American anymore.”

Cain, a supporter of the Second Amendment, replied: “My AR is ready for you Robert Francis.”
The remark clearly got O’Rourke’s little sheep costume in a twist, as he declared the comment to be a “death threat” and suggested Cain might be a candidate for the so-called ‘red flag’ law.

“You’re a child Robert Francis,” Cain responded.
Cain’s initial comments seem less like a death threat and more echoing the words of Thomas Jefferson, a Founding Father.
Jefferson wrote, in a letter to William Smith in 1787:
What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms.
Senator Ted Cruz recently explained why the Democrat goal of disarming law-abiding citizens is an atrocious idea, and has historically been racist.
“Post Civil War, disarming Black Americans was a critical objective of the KKK, and was memorialized in countless Jim Crow laws – to strip African-Americans of their God-given right to self-defense from violence,” he said.
Beyond even that, the Second Amendment was designed to give civilians a means to protect themselves from an overly oppressive government. It’s no surprise that anyone suggesting they’d take that right away from their own people is going to be met with resistance.

An official from Beto’s campaign said they had reported the original tweet from Cain to the FBI, according to ABC News.
O’Rourke has said he won’t need to take the firearms by force because Americans will simply hand them over.
“I would expect Americans to comply with the law,” he said rather naively.
In a tweet earlier this month, Cain responded to that notion saying, “I’ll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.”
