With the media in a feeding frenzy over the Planned Parenthood shooting in Colorado (of which we have yet to be provided with an actual motive), Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is pushing back against the narrative that conservatives are the violent criminals, and he’s pushing back hard.
Calling it an “undeniable fact,” Cruz told radio host Hugh Hewitt that the “overwhelming majority of violent criminals are Democrats.”

Radio host Hugh Hewitt told Cruz that, given how some in the media have attempted to connect pro-life rhetoric to the shooting, he has never encountered a pro-life individual who would condone violence.
Cruz agreed and said whenever tragedy strikes, the media is “salivating” and “hoping desperately that the murderer happens to be a Republican.”
And then he said, “Here’s the simple and undeniable fact: the overwhelming majority of violent criminals are Democrats. The media doesn’t report that.”
He told Hewitt the reason Democrats want convicted felons to be able to vote is because they know most of them will vote for Democrats.
Cruz is correct, the liberal media often jumps the gun when it comes to portraying violent crimes as perpetrated by conservatives, and they do so without concern for facts and logic. It has been repeated over and again with:
- The aforementioned George Tiller murder.
- The IRS plane attack by Joseph Stack.
- The University of Alabama shooting spree.
- The Binghamton Immigration center shooting spree.
- The disproved murder of Census worker Bill Sparkman.
- The shooting in Tucson, Arizona.
All of the above were actually leftist lunatics, but the media tried to initially blame conservatives.
