100-Year-Old Star-Spangled Banner Monument Vandalized in Baltimore, Maryland

The centennial monument sat in Baltimore, Maryland, for over 100 years. It commemorated “The Star-Spangled Banner” and its originator Francis Scott Key, who wrote the song in the state during the war.

It is a symbol of pride and history, and on Monday, it was found to be vandalized with red paint. Progressives have been targeting statues around the nation that have anything to do with this nation’s history and attaching the word racism to it as justification to tear it down. This is no different.

In September 2017, the Francis Scott Key memorial was also damaged, along with the Christopher Columbus statue, which existed for 225 years with not even a scratch by protesters. (Related: Vandals Destroy America’s Oldest Christopher Columbus Statue)

A century-old statue commemorating the battle of Baltimore is wrapped up in a battle of its own after someone discovered it doused in red paint early Monday morning.

The words ‘Racist Anthem’ were spray painted on the sidewalk in front of the statue, and that has already been scrubbed from the sidewalk.

“Certainly we were disappointed that it had been targeted, but we understand freedom of expression,” Jennifer Robinson, with Friends of Patterson Park. “We just think that this conversation could be had in a more productive way.”

Those who live nearby say they are absolutely disappointed.

You’d think with record homicides, gangs attacking innocent people, and awful schools, people would have much bigger things to protest in Baltimore.

Even statues of children are no longer safe from anti-American vandals.

These are the fruits of violence that come from fake America history being taught at college campuses in the United States. Those of us who love our country need to start taking the time to read, study, and preach real American history to the desolate minds who don’t understand their own country.

They wouldn’t know what racism is even if they were slammed in the butt by it with a Gestapo machine gun! They don’t even care that the statue was paid for by pennies from public school students more than a century ago.
