Mark and Patricia McCloskey made national headlines in 2020 when the St. Louis couple met Black Lives Matter protesters who entered their private street outside their home with their legally-owned guns.
Last week, the couple pled guilty to minor misdemeanor charges over the incident, and agreed to turn in their firearms.
The couple is making headlines again, this time by showing off a new AR-15 they plan to buy.
“Checking out my new AR!” Mark McCloskey tweeted on Saturday.
Included in his tweet was two photos: One of McCloskey holding the AR-15 and posing with the gun store owner. The other, holding the gun and standing with wife, Patricia.

Fox News reported Sunday, “Despite having their weapons seized and pleading guilty to charges in connection with pointing guns at Black Lives Matter rioters on their private property during the summer of 2020, Mark and Patricia McCloskey appeared defiant Saturday, posting a picture of a new AR-15 the St. Louis couple intends to buy. ”
“The picture came just two days after the McCloskeys pleaded guilty to lesser charges and agreed to pay fines in connection with last summer’s incident involving Black Lives Matter rioters who tore down an iron gate and ignored a ‘No Trespassing’ sign on their private street.” Fox News noted.
Mrs. McCloskey held a handgun during the incident and agreed to pay a $2,000 fine after copping to a harassment plea bargain.
Mark McCloskey told reporters outside the courthouse after his case, “I’d do it again.”
“Any time the mob approaches me, I’ll do what I can to put them in imminent threat of physical injury because that’s what kept them from destroying my house and family,” Mr. McCloskey said.
The McCloskeys have always maintained they felt threatened that day and that is why they used guns to warn off the crowd that gathered outside their home.
After their arrest in 2020, their guns were immediately seized and will be destroyed.
However, this does not prevent the McCloskeys from buying firearms now or in the future.
Mark McCloskey voiced his support for gun rights during an interview on Fox News on Sunday.
“We’re strong advocates of the Second Amendment and we’re going to continue to exercise our rights and protect ourselves,” Mr. McCloskey said.
“We intend to keep our arms and bear them,” he continued. “We’re a constitutional carry state. I will replace those (guns) which the state took.”
Legally battered but apparently unbroken, the couple expect the new rifle will be available on Thursday.
Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
