Will Sean Hannity leave Fox News?

There’s a rumor afoot that Hannity may depart from his long-time network to join the burgeoning conservative network, Sinclair. If any kind of deal goes through, Fox may be in big trouble.

Politico reports:

Sinclair Broadcasting is zeroing in on Sean Hannity’s team.

As its executive chairman David Smith prepares to launch a competitor to Fox News, he has met in the last few months with the executive producer of Hannity’s top-rated show on Fox, Porter Berry, according to two people familiar with the meeting.

How exciting! Even if Hannity remains at Fox, it’s always good to have another conservative TV channel that pushes back against the flawed liberal narrative.

But it gets even more interesting. Sinclair isn’t just trying to pull Hannity away from Fox. The network head is also trying to poach other Fox talent, both former and current, like Greta Van Susteren and Jeanine Pirro.

Nothing like some good, old-fashioned competition in broadcasting!

Fox probably isn’t enjoying Hannity’s consideration of leaving the network. The outspoken Trump supporter has become a crucial counsel to the President. And the public knows it. Because Trump is such a big Hannity fan, his show tops other evening broadcasters time and time again. (RELATED: Fox News Continues to Dominate Cable News Ratings, Hannity on Top).

Sinclair’s ongoing expansion doesn’t pose the only threat to Fox News. Earlier this week, it was reported that former Fox star Bill O’Reilly was being courted by Newsmax TV. The conservative outlet is looking to vastly expand its television lineup, starting with O’Reilly, and former Fox hosts Greta Van Susteren and Eric Bolling.
