Obnoxious comedian Sarah Silverman has a new streaming show on Hulu (is anyone actually watching?) called “I Love You, America” that was billed as a show where the lefty would connect with people outside her liberal bubble. Judging by the latest episode, that is NOT what is happening.
Silverman invited a guest on who was supposedly a former neo-Nazi who has reformed his ways – now he’s cool because he’s liberal. Because of his background, apparently Silverman thinks he’s an authority on what is racist and some kind of racism translator because she wants him to interpret what “the leaders of our nation,” presumably Trump, are REALLY saying when they speak.
He is more than happy to use the opportunity to impugn all conservatives, saying, “People talk about dog whistles–using code words to appeal to a certain base–I hear a bull horn, I hear it loud and clear. They are things I used to say 30 years ago but they’re using slightly more palatable words. Instead of saying ‘the Jew-owned media,’ now they call it ‘the liberal media.’”
Seriously?! That is ridiculous! It would be offensive if it wasn’t so outlandish and false. We call the liberal media “the liberal media” because the media are liberal! Study after study has confirmed this, not to mention anecdotal evidence from liberals themselves!
But how many dumb people watching Silverman’s show (and if you’re watching this crap, you’ve got to be dumb) are now going to believe that anyone who uses the words “liberal media” is a neo-Nazi, because after all, a former neo-Nazi said it and he would know!
The fact that the media is liberal is pretty much common knowledge in America, they’re barely even trying to maintain a fig leaf of objectivity at this point. But now, all of a sudden, it’s racist to say!
Saying “liberal media” is a racist code word for “Jew-owned media” is basically a way of telling conservatives to sit down and shut up. It completely marginalizes and dismisses conservative views, because supposedly only anti-Semites criticize the media. It’s a way of automatically disqualifying anything we say and painting conservatives as a whole as white supremacists and neo-Nazis, instead of the tiny fringe groups they really are.
Telling the truth is racist now, but that won’t stop us from telling the truth about the liberal media, no matter how hard they try!
