Since when has a White House Press Secretary ever needed a security detail? Never, until this week.
According to the Daily Mail, “Secret Service agents will protect White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders at her home on a temporary basis, it has been reported. The increased security for Sanders comes days after she was asked to leave a small Virginia restaurant called The Red Hen whose staff members are opposed to the Trump administration’s policies.”
What most people don’t know is that after Sanders was kicked out of The Red Hen, the owner then followed her (and company) across the street, called people and organized a protest, then yelled and screamed at Sanders from outside the other restaurant they went to. Among those with Sanders were her in-laws, who themselves are liberals. According to Mike Huckabee, one of them said to the Red Hen owner; “Look, I don’t like Trump. I’m not a supporter. I’m a far – considered liberal – but, you guys are embarrassing me and you’re not helping your cause.” No kidding.
The restaurant incident was hardly the single event that leads to Sanders requiring increased security. In just the past week there’s been a surge in targeted public harassment of Trump team members, including DHS Secretary Kristjen Nielsen, Stephen Miller, Mitch McConnell and Elaine Chao, and others. Rather than call out the rising violence, Democrats have only doubled down, with Maxine Waters and Cory Booker encouraging more harassment. President Donald Trump responded to the calls for harassment with a message directed at Maxine. “Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with Nancy Pelosi, the Face of the Democrat Party. She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America Great Again movement. Be careful what you wish for Max!”
On the bright side, perhaps the public is finally waking up to the Left’s true colors when even a Press Secretary needs Secret Service protection.
Things have gone too far in this country. Sarah Sanders, or any member of the Trump administration, should never have to fear for their safety. Such violent rhetoric and actions, by the left, is inexcusable and needs to stop now before someone gets hurt.
