WASHINGTON, DC - SEPTEMBER 05: White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders calls on reporters during the daily news conference in the Brady Press Briefing Room at the White House September 5, 2017 in Washington, DC. Sanders fielded questions about President Donald Trump's decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals immigration policy, an Obama-era executive action that allows certain undocumented immigratns who entered the country as minors to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and eligibility for a work permit. Famously, President Donald Trump doesn’t drink. However, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders keeps a bottle of whiskey on display in her office, and she recently revealed the very cool reason why.

While Sanders was giving a preview of Trump’s State of the Union on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday, host Steve Doocy asked about the bottle of whiskey, quipping that Sanders “might need” it. Sanders replied, “I like to remind everybody that was a sealed bottle and has not been opened,” before adding that her “dad might be watching.”

Sanders then further explained that the whiskey is “Warrior Whiskey” from Steamboat Whiskey Company. The whiskey is made by a Navy SEAL veteran and a portion of the proceeds go to veteran charity organizations. According to the Steamboat Whiskey Company website:

Steamboat Whiskey Company Founder and Head Distiller Nathan Newhall is a former U. S. Navy SEAL. Nathan wanted to give back to veterans in a meaningful way so he developed Warrior Whiskey as a military tribute product. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Warrior Whiskey go directly to vetted U.S. veteran support organizations so they may continue the important work helping America’s fighting heroes.

Every quarter the proceeds go to a different veteran charity. Currently, the proceeds are going to the Navy Seal Fund.

Sanders also revealed that Trump was presented a bottle of the Warrior Whiskey by a military aide who served with the owners of the company. But as Trump doesn’t drink, he presumably passed the bottle on to Sanders.

What a great way for Team Trump to honor our nation’s veterans. It all goes to show the lengths the Trump Administration will go to in order to ensure our armed forces know the President supports their efforts.

Share this if you’re proud to have a president who supports and honors our troops and military veterans!
