Pro-Trump Roseanne Debuts – Immediately Takes a Jab at Hillary Clinton

Roseanne

It didn’t take long for the reboot of the ABC comedy “Roseanne” to take a jab at Hillary Clinton.

21 years after the sitcom last aired, Roseanne Connor, played by Emmy-award winning comedian Roseanne Barr, returned Tuesday night as a blue-collar, full-throated supporter of President Trump, indicating the show will retain the groundbreaking edge it had become known for.

Unlike many shows in Hollywood today, Roseanne will also feature a character with a counterpoint in Roseanne’s sister Jackie, who is a “nasty” Hillary supporter.

“I just wanted to have that dialogue about families torn apart by the election and their political differences of opinion and how we handle it,” Barr explained. “I thought that this was an important thing to say at this time.”

The contrasting characters had some early scene fireworks that generated laughs, with Hillary’s famous jab about Trump supporters airing front and center.

Jackie enters the Connors’ home wearing what you’d expect from a Hillary supporter – a “nasty woman” t-shirt and accompanying pink p**** hat.

“What’s up, deplorable?” she says.

It doesn’t take long for the Trump-supporting Roseanne to get her back.

When the Connor family and friends sit down for dinner, Roseanne suggests “Let’s say grace.”

She looks at her sister and jokes, “Jackie, would you like to take a knee?”

Barr’s character represents a broad swath of Americans, and she plays the role from some experience as a Trump supporter herself.

During a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, the late-night host said he had always known her to be a social liberal and that he was shocked at the path she had gone down.

“I’m still the same — you all moved,” she shot back. “You all went so f—ing far out you lost everybody. A lot of us, no matter who we voted for, we don’t want to see our president fail.”

Amen.

Hollywood has moved so far to the left that Roseanne, simply by staying the same, has begun shattering stereotypes in her work once again.
