America’s best governor, Florida’s Ron DeSantis, is officially going through with what some consider his ill-conceived plan to run for President in 2024.

Rather than waiting for a clear path in 2028, DeSantis seems intent on getting batted around by current frontrunner Donald Trump.

Perhaps that’s why DeSantis is pulling out the big guns – he’s reportedly going to make his bid announcement with America’s best businessman, Elon Musk.

The Details

DeSantis is going to make his announcement Wednesday night at 6pm Eastern.

The big news though, is the Elon Musk part. DeSantis will announce in a Twitter Space – which for those unfamiliar is basically just Zoom without the video aspect – with Musk himself.

Having Musk in his corner could prove to be a massive boon for DeSantis. Besides the potentially unlimited money, there’s also Twitter itself, which is an enormously powerful tool. Trump proved that in 2016.

And speaking of that, Trump still hasn’t returned to Twitter, even though Musk has lifted the former president’s ban.

Trump is still sticking with Truth Social, his alternative platform created in the wake of his ban. A major mistake, to my thinking.

Especially since DeSantis has Musk in his corner.

DeSantis Is Down BIG To Trump

The fact is, DeSantis is going to need Musk, and money, and any other advantage he can get.

Because as it stands, the GOP is Trump’s party. And polls show it.

A poll from last month showed that Donald Trump had a bigger lead over DeSantis than President Biden had over insurgent Democrat candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Frankly, that’s an embarrassing showing for DeSantis, and I don’t expect it to hold at all. Nevertheless, it should tell the DeSantis camp something.

America’s Governor picks up much better news when polls look to a general election.

The latest Morning Consult poll shows DeSantis only down three to Biden. DeSantis hasn’t even announced yet, and he’s not as national of a figure as he will be very shortly.

The same poll shows Trump dead-even with Biden.

Getting back to the primary, if DeSantis keeps up his yeoman’s work dismantling the progressive regime in Florida, he will undoubtedly start to gain on Trump.
