Republican lawmakers released a video of migrants being caught and apprehended at the border just a few feet behind them, claiming Vice President and newly minted ‘Border Czar’ Kamala Harris is refusing to visit the area to assess the situation.
The video was provided as 10 GOP lawmakers, led by House Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA), made a visit to McAllen, Texas.
In it, migrants can be seen being escorted to processing facilities by border patrol agents after they had crossed the Rio Grande river.
“This is out of control,” Scalise posted on social media. “It’s the middle of the night. We’ve seen dozens of children flow freely across the border in just the past few minutes.”
He added, “This is the reality of Joe Biden’s disastrous amnesty agenda.”

In the video released by Scalise, the Republican congressman claims to have seen 100 migrants crossing the border in a span of one hour.
In a separate trip this week, Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN) alleged ICE agents are being overrun and simply can’t keep up with the border crisis.
“Forty percent of our Border Patrol agents are busy processing people and changing diapers,” Spartz said.
Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) appeared on Fox News earlier this week and blasted President Biden for his role in creating the ongoing border crisis.
“This is a humanitarian crisis,” she accused. “I can’t even in good conscience call President Biden president, I have to call him ‘trafficker-in-chief’ because these kids are being trafficked.”
Last week, The Political Insider reported how Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are being so overrun by the surge of migrants that they are releasing some without court dates and in some cases, no paperwork at all.
The Daily Caller News Foundation would later question a CBP spokesperson about how many had been released without a Notice to Appear (NTA) in court, but they were either unwilling or unable to provide a number.

As the video was being released of migrants being caught at the border, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich (R) said Vice President Kamala Harris has thus far not responded to an invitation to view the crisis firsthand.
“I guess if you were a philosopher you would say no response is a very loud response because we’ve not received any response,” he told Fox News.
This comes well over two weeks since Harris was tapped as Biden’s lead to deal with the “root causes” of illegal immigration crisis.
The President said Harris “speaks for me” when naming her to lead a diplomatic effort to slow the migrant surge at the US-Mexico border.
“In her first two weeks as czar, she has traveled to Connecticut, Chicago and home to California over the Easter weekend,” the New York Post writes.
Harris has also “presided over swearing-in ceremonies, touted the administration’s coronavirus stimulus package and the COVID response, visited vaccination sites, lunched with the president, attended a Cabinet meeting, and held listening sessions with faith leaders and small business owners,” they add.
“I will buy her a pastry if it will encourage her to come here,” Brnovich half-joked, referencing an incident in which White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki snapped at a reporter for asking why Harris had visited a bakery instead of the border.
