Republicans Fire Back After Democrats Remove ‘Under God’ From Pledge of Allegiance At DNC

After two DNC meetings ommitted “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance, the Republicans at the RNC made sure to emphasize it in theirs.

“Under God” Removed At Two DNC Meetings

Last week at the DNC, two meetings – the Muslim Delegates and Allies Assembly and the LGBTQ caucus meeting – deliberately ommitted the phrase “under God” when reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

This was picked up pretty quickly by many conservatives and those on the right, as more examples of just how radical and anti-Christian the Democrats have become in recent years. In a tweet, the President said that the Pledge without “under God” sounded “not only strange, but terrible,” arguing this is where the Democrats “are coming from!”

“That Could Not, Would Not, Ever Happen Here”

So, of course, the Republicans responded to this by trolling the Democrats and their supporters. Showing their contrast, RNC delegates deliberately emphasized “under God” during the Pledge of Allegiance instead!

“At the Democrat National Convention, we know that at least two caucuses removed two words – ‘under God’ – from the Pledge of Allegiance. We know too that at a previous Democrat convention, a recent one, the word ‘God’ was almost totally removed from their platform. That could not, would not, ever happen here,” said Peter Goldberg, a Republican delegate from Alaska.

“We know as Republicans that America must put its full trust and faith in that God, in order to do so so that every American citizen can have the blessings of security, the opportunity for prosperity and the ability to enjoy all of those freedoms that are enshrined in that divinely inspired document the Constitution of the United States of America,” Goldberg continued.

Damage Control From The MSM!

If you listened to mainstream media coverage of this whole debacle, however, you’d think the Republicans were getting upset over nothing. All the leftist fact-checkers, including Snopes, Politifact, and USA Today, rated the claim that “under God” was removed from the Pledge at the DNC as “mostly false,” because it only happened at the two meetings, and not at the main stage.

You can really tell that the media are running total damage control on this. Of course the DNC wouldn’t remove it from main events, because that would be too conspicuous! But they let it happen at the smaller meetings, so why wouldn’t the claim be rated “partly true” or “mostly true?” It happened, so it’s not mostly false is it? They need Americans to think this!
