Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has reportedly left husband Ahmed Hirsi, moving into a penthouse apartment in a trendy Minneapolis neighborhood.
The separation comes as questions continue to swirl over Omar’s controversial marriages, garnering national attention including commentary by the President of the United States.
The Daily Mail reports that they’ve exclusively learned that the congresswoman and Hirsi, father of their three children, “have split and are heading for their second divorce.”
Confronted by a reporter on the matter, Hirsi seemed surprised that the news had gotten out, responding “‘Wow. I can’t comment on that. I’m sorry, I just can’t say anything.”
The news comes as several sources, including the left-leaning Minneapolis Star-Tribune, reported on documents raising questions as to whether Omar previously married her own brother as a means to “skirt immigration laws.”
President Trump called out the curious case, saying he had heard some stories but that it was up to others to investigate.
“There’s a lot of talk about the fact that she was married to her brother,” Trump told reporters. “I know nothing about it. … I’m sure that somebody would be looking at that.”
Could this latest split be a result of intense scrutiny being applied to her marriage?
Omar was reportedly engaged in civil marriage with Ahmed Nur Said Elmi up until 2017, but she filed joint tax returns with Hirsi in 2014 and 2015.
Aside from the possible immigration fraud with a man allegedly her brother, the multiple filings appear to be a violation of state tax law.
Last month, a reporter questioned Omar on the latest allegations, but she repeatedly refused to answer.
Earlier this week, Judicial Watch filed a congressional ethics complaint against Omar, saying she must be investigated for “perjury, immigration fraud, marriage fraud, state and federal tax fraud, and federal student loan fraud.”
The freshman congresswoman’s legal issues, which include the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board ruling that she repeatedly violated campaign finance law by using campaign funds to pay for personal expenses while serving on the state legislature, have left some community leaders viewing her with disgust.
“Obviously we are proud that a Somali-American has been elected — but we just think it is the wrong Somali-American,” one community leader said.
That encapsulates how most of America feels about Omar.

Now that she has a great gig being a House Rep, she doesn't need the guy anymore. Someone is giving her financial help. I would ask her if she took out a loan with the Muslim Brotherhood, or CAIR!
Yeah...about that...

she knows if she answered any of these legitimate questions she would put herself in deeper trouble than she’s in now. Her time to do the perp walk is approaching.

How convenient.
He claimed to be a Christian, but he sat for 20 years in a Church run by a very hateful Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Hatred is not a Christian virtue. If he was a Muslim, I don't know what kind he was. He did have a tendency to bow to a lot of the violent and corrupt leadership of Muslim majority middle eastern countries.
Does she have a third brother?
