Back in December, we learned that FBI agent Peter Strzok was removed from Robert Mueller’s Russia probe after it was uncovered that he had exchanged thousands of anti-Trump text messages with DOJ lawyer Lisa Page, with whom he was having an affair.
Now, a new report indicates that Strzok was also personal friends with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) judge who presided over the federal case against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
As reported by The Federalist, buried among the myriad texts exchanged between Strzok and Page was a plot to leverage Strzok’s friendship with Judge Rudolph Contreras against Flynn. Strzok and Page planned to meet with Contreras at a covert dinner party.
“[REDACTED] suggested a social setting with others would probably be better than a one on one meeting,” Strzok told Page. “I’m sorry, I’m just going to have to invite you to that cocktail party.”
“Have to come up with some other work people cover for action,” Strzok added.
“Why more?” Page responded. “Six is a perfectly fine dinner party.”
It’s not known whether the party happened as planned. However, Contreras was recused from handling the case just days after Flynn pleaded guilty to making false statements to federal investigators.

According to multiple federal investigators, the text messages about Contreras were deliberately hidden from Congress. References to Contreras were redacted in 384 pages of text messages provided to Congress, but staffers on the House Judiciary Committee read the underlying documents and managed to put the pieces together.
Quite obviously, this raises some serious questions about whether Flynn’s case was properly conducted – and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the answer is “no.” Jeff Sessions needs to do something about this egregious misconduct within his department, and soon. If not, Trump should usher him to the chopping block ASAP.
