Report: Donald Trump Planning Big Rallies In Ohio And Florida

Following earlier reports, USA Today confirmed on Tuesday that former President Donald Trump is planning to hold major rallies in the states of Ohio and Florida later this month.

USA Today reported, “Following a series of speeches to Republican conservatives over the past five months, former President Donald Trump will head to Ohio and Florida over the next two-and-a-half weeks to hold the kinds of mass rallies with rank-and-file supporters that fueled his White House campaigns.”

Earlier reports from the New York Post indicated that Trump’s rallies are intended to “lay down a marker for 2024.”

Precursor To Another White House Run In 2024?

“Trump is expected to stage his first post-presidential rally in the Cleveland area on June 26, and follow up with an event in the Tampa area on July 3, said two aides familiar with the planning,” USA Today noted.

Recently, Trump hinted at holding rallies in Florida, Ohio and North Carolina.

“We’ll be doing one in Florida, we’re going to do one in Ohio, we’re going to do one in North Carolina,” Trump told One America News in May.

Of course, the announcement of holding huge outdoor rallies, similar to those that helped define his 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns, fuels speculation that the former president not only wants to maintain his influence within the GOP for the upcoming 2022 midterm election, he might be planning another run at the White House in 2024.

Trump Still Defining Republican Party

In addition to these planned rallies, Trump’s post-presidential appearances have included the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Florida in February, and the North Carolina Republican Party’s state convention on June 5.

Trump has also granted a number of interviews to conservative news outlets and also issued a number of statements from his office on various issues since leaving the White House in January.

Are these rallies the precursor to Trump running again in 2024? It’s anyone’s guess, but at the very least, it’s safe to say the former Republican president wants his party and the country to know he isn’t going anywhere.
