President Trump Unloads on Eric Holder’s Call for Violence

President Donald Trump fired back at Eric Holder, telling Obama’s Attorney General that he made a grave mistake after the controversial former Attorney General joined some of his fellow Democrats in calling for violence against Republicans.

Yesterday a video clip showing Holder at a campaign event went viral, in which he’s shown telling a crowd, “when Republicans go low, we kick ’em,” to much applause. “It is time for us as Democrats to be as tough as they are, to be as dedicated as they are, to be as committed as they are,” Holder said at the event. “Michelle (Obama) always says ‘When they go low, we go high,’” he continued. “No. No … When they go low, we kick ’em.”

President Trump is having none of it. Appearing on “Fox and Friends” this morning, Trump responded to the clip, after being asked by host Steve Doocy, “What does that say to you about the tenor of politics?” that Holder could make such a statement to applause.

Trump’s response: tread lightly.

“He better be careful what he is wishing for,” Trump replied. “He better be careful for what he is wishing for. That is a disgusting statement for him to make” he continued. “They have to be careful with the rhetoric because it is very dangerous what Holder says. Holder was held in contempt by Congress. Holder went after Christians. He went after our great evangelicals. He went after the Tea Party people. You know that. IRS just settled that case. Holder, he has got some problems.” Trump then said that Holder would be “gobbled up” if he attempted to run for President (which Holder says he plans to do).

Watch below:

Holder’s comments would be surprising if other Democrats, such as Maxine Waters and Cory Booker, hadn’t made similar statements encouraging violence before him. It seems that anything goes for Democrats in the Trump era – though Holder was at least kind enough to pretend that he wasn’t actually inciting violence (as opposed to Waters, who seems to get off on bragging about inciting violence).

I guess his defense makes sense if we’re to pretend that there’s a national debate over the definition of the word “kick.”

Admittedly, I can’t imagine what Holder’s presidential platform would consist of. His record of selling firearms to drug cartels? His campaign would be over faster than you can say “furious.”
