Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson was killed early morning after he was struck and killed in what’s “allegedly” a drunk driving incident. Jackson and another man were standing outside a car on the road when they were struck by Manuel Orrego-Savala, who gave police an alias.
Jackson was taking a ride-sharing service (Uber or Lyft), and both men were struck around 4 am. According to detectives, Orrego-Savala is an illegal immigrant – and only a citizen of Guatemala. He’d previously been deported twice, in 2007 and 2009.
President Donald Trump commented on the tragedy this morning.

He also commented: “So disgraceful that a person illegally in our country killed @Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson. This is just one of many such preventable tragedies. We must get the Dems to get tough on the Border, and with illegal immigration, FAST!”

According to Fox News, Orrego-Savala’s blood alcohol level was 0.239 at the time of the crash — three times the legal limit — The Indianapolis Star reported, citing a probable cause affidavit.
Vice President Mike Pence also tweeted about Jackson’s “senseless & avoidable” death on Monday evening, calling it a “tragedy.”

Inevitably, liberal pundits have accused Trump and co. of exploiting the tragedy for political purposes, but this is hardly an isolated incident. Thanks to federal data that wasn’t public until a few months ago, we know that illegals commit crimes at rates disproportionate to those of legal, domestic-born individuals.
Another recent study that examined the criminal behavior of illegal immigrants in Arizona found that they commit crimes at rates double that of other residents. The study concluded that if we extrapolate out the results from Arizona to a national level, that means in 2016 there were over 1,000 more murders, 5,200 rapes, 8,900 robberies, 25,300 aggravated assaults, and 26,900 burglaries than if we had no illegal immigrants.
And it goes without saying, the crime aspect is only one consequence of illegal immigration.
