‘President Tried to Heal the Pain Everyone Is Going Through’

The president of the United States spent time on Wednesday in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas, with first responders, doctors, survivors and families and friends of the victims of two sad tragedies this past weekend.

Yet those of other political persuasions continue to insist that President Donald Trump’s words and actions are divisive and hurtful.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani appeared on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” to discuss the issue — and noted that the “president tried to heal the pain everyone is going through.”

He did the right thing: He showed his support, he spent time with those who are suffering, he talked with people, and he worked hard to be the consoler-in-chief.

Yet many members of the other party insisted on criticism — and on using and tossing around their own divisive language and commentary.

“It’s a shame that these people have degraded themselves to this level, to do this kind of thing,” said Giuliani about those on the Left who are slamming the president and distorting his words.

“It’s been very troubling to watch this, and very scary to watch this.”

Then there were the recent actions of Joaquin Castro — who published the names and organizations of donors to President Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign, in order to call them out.

“So this is clearly the 2020 strategy [of those on the Left], to accuse their opponents of racism,” said Molly Hemingway, senior editor at The Federalist, also a guest on the program. “It’s been very troubling to watch this, and very scary to watch this.”

It’s terrible for America, she also said.

And “you can’t get anything done [right now], because they will stop anything Trump wants to do,” said Giuliani.
