POTUS Says He Trusts McConnell To Choose Witnesses For Trial; Won’t Intervene

On Tuesday, Pres. Donald Trump has tempered his demand for former Vice President Joe Biden, his son Hunter and others to testify in the upcoming Senate impeachment trial.

Trump states that he will leave it up to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on choosing the witnesses if he decides to call them to testify.

According to The Hill, “Yeah, he can decide, and we’ll also have to decide on when we’re taking the vote for the USMCA – to me, I’d let the Senate decide on that,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Tuesday.

McConnell has already said that the Senate would take up the USMCA after the impeachment trial was completed.

McConnell has already said that he didn’t think the Senate trial warranted witnesses, and a lengthy trial could prove to be an “embarrassing scene” for the American people.

Initially, Trump told reporters that he wanted to hear testimony from several witnesses in addition to the Bidens, including the whistleblower whose complaint about his July call with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy sparked the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry and the American people should agree. If you are brought before a judge because of a complaint and the person making the complaint doesn’t testify, what gives? How is that justice?

Trump and many House Republicans wanted House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff to testify in front of the Senate concerning the whistleblower. It does seem. However, Republican senators would prefer a quick trial leading to Trump’s acquittal.

Trump deferring to McConnell’s choice of witnesses are a result of Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, drafting a letter calling for four witnesses, including ex-National Security Adviser John Bolton and acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney to appear during the Senate Impeachment trial.

Trump has nothing to prove. Let the Senate dismiss this sham impeachment and let the Republicans get back to business as usual and serving the American people.

Democrats stirred this nest of bees for nothing. What you are morons going to do next? Try to impeach the Pope? The world is laughing at you.

If Democrats are seething because “they haven’t got their message out,” then I predict they will seethe forever because their message has got out:

They hate Trump. Ok. That’s their message. We got it.

However, for those of us who don’t hate the man, for those of us just happy to go to work and put food on our table for our families, Trump’s been great.

So they can feel however they want about Trump, but their feelings are not changing a thing about our lives, and with most of the lunatics they have running their party, I would be concerned if they were to get power again. Last time they had power, they screwed up healthcare, let ISIS metastasize, attempted to sell out the American worker to every other country on the planet, and killed small businesses all throughout the country.

They get it again, and there’s no telling what they’ll do.

All in all, it comes down to whether our Senate’s GOP leaders are sure of a supermajority of two-thirds, or just a majority. Complicating this is that whether to just dismiss or hear testimony and vote for acquittal is up to McConnell and Judicial Committee Chairman LindseyGraham, whose spines have been missing in the past.

I believe they won’t stab us in the back while we’re watching them, do you?
