Pelosi: What’s the Point of Enforcing Immigration Laws?

This is the Democrat mindset on immigration and border security in a nutshell.

Speaking at an event in New York City, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi dismissed enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws, asking “What’s the point?”

The top Democrat hammered President Trump for an announcement that he was going to begin “big deportation” of illegal immigrants who have missed court dates.

“When I saw that the president was going to have these raids, I mean it was so appalling,” Pelosi said. “It’s outside the circle of civilized human behavior to just be kicking down doors, splitting up families, and the rest of that, in addition to the injustices that are happening at the border. We have legislation to go forward to address those needs, but in terms of interior enforcement, what’s the – what’s the point?

Um, sure. We have laws addressing bank robbery – but in terms of security guards – what’s the point? Murder is illegal too – but in terms of having a trial to lock up violent killers – what’s the point? Drunk-driving? Screw it!

The Democrat motto heading into 2020 will henceforth be – Laws: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

She is genuinely nuttier than a Snickers bar.

Other Curious Comments

That wasn’t all, however. Pelosi said during a phone conversation with President Trump that a “violation of status” is not necessarily a reason for deportation.

It’s … It’s the most significant reason.

“I said ‘a violation of status is not a reason for deportation,’ that’s just not so,” Pelosi recalled. “If you have some case you want to make about somebody who’s been accused … that has nothing to do with violation of status, because then we’re talking about over 10 million people who may be subjected to this treatment, and what we need there is comprehensive immigration reform with a path to citizenship.”

And?

Bear in mind that this is the same woman who wants to see Trump in prison over fictitious crimes, but doesn’t want illegals to suffer repercussions for their actual crimes. Is it any wonder he refers to Pelosi as a “disgrace“?

America Thinks There’s a Point

Do you know who does think there’s a point to enforcing immigration laws? A plurality of Americans.

A recent Gallup survey shows that 23% of Americans define immigration as the most important problem facing the country today. That is the highest number the polling firm has ever recorded since they first began in 1993.

Angel Dad Steve Ronnebeck, whose son was brutally shot and killed by an illegal immigrant, also believes there’s a point to enforcing the laws.

“How many more people need to die?” he asked. “How many more people need to overdose for [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi to come to the table and do her job?”

Sadly, Pelosi and the Democrats simply don’t care. To them, illegals can commit whatever crime they want and they still won’t comprehend the need to enforce our nation’s laws.
