Nevada Congressman Mark Amodei has lent credence to a rumor already circulating on Capitol Hill – Speaker of the House Paul Ryan is preparing to resign.

According to Amodei, Ryan is set to relinquish his role within the next couple of months.

The Republican representative also included a replacement in this rumor; an esteemed Congressman from Louisiana who recently survived an assassination attempt, yet continues to staunchly defend the Second Amendment.

“The rumor mill is that Paul Ryan is getting ready to resign in the next 30 to 60 days and that Steve Scalise will be the new Speaker,” Amodei announced.

Rumors of Ryan’s departure have been circulating since at least December when he declared that he had been engaged in “soul-searching conversations about his future with friends.”

Most people surrounding Ryan indicated his departure would come after the 2018 midterms, though some did speculate that it may be sooner.

CNN reported that friends thought Ryan was suffering from “Trump-haustion.”

Ryan denied the rumors, which in Washington amounts to a hill of beans.

“I ain’t goin’ anywhere,” he said in response to the speculation.

Scalise as Speaker of the House would be great news for those supporting the Second Amendment because it has come under increasing assault by far-left anti-Constitutionalists.

The congressman has said that being shot at a baseball field in Alexandria didn’t diminish his stance on gun rights, in fact, it “fortified” them.

Fox News host Martha MacCallum asked Scalise if his personal struggle to recover from his own shooting, and other shootings, such as the one in Las Vegas, had changed his view on gun control.

“I think it’s fortified it,” Scalise said adding, “I think we see too much of that, where people say OK, now you have to have gun control.”

Ryan’s “Trump-haustion” may have been a contributing factor in his effort to push through a &1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill that is littered with Democrat bribes and special favors.

Perhaps that was his parting shot to those who sought to drain the swamp in Washington.
