One Day After Bill O’Reilly Was Fired by Fox News, Sean Hannity is in Trouble

Fox News fired famous host Bill O’Reilly yesterday, but things are about to get worse.

Insiders are speculating that Sean Hannity is next.

This is bad news about Hannity, who has been President Donald Trump’s biggest supporter at the popular cable network:

A New York Times reporter suggested Thursday that conservative TV host Sean Hannity could be the next Fox News host to be pressured to leave the network, after Bill O’Reilly’s stunning decision to leave Fox in the wake of sexual harassment claims.

On MSNBC, Times reporter Jeremy Peters noted a 2010 report about Fox that included a quote that said some within the Murdoch family were unhappy with the way the network was being run. Rupert Murdoch and his two sons are the top executives of the corporation that owns Fox.

“I think you have to look at somebody like Sean Hannity,” Peters said, “and question whether or not his almost propaganda-like attitude and programming every night is going to be acceptable in the minds of the family which is clearly trying to shift the network in another direction.”

Of course, that’s a liberal source. But well-placed Fox News insiders are certain there is more bad news for Fox News coming down the pike. Could this be Fox News executives hinting of a Hannity exit?:

Executives at Fox News reportedly fear what is to come after it was announced on Wednesday that host Bill O’Reilly would not return to the network in the wake of sexual harassment allegations.

“There’s more to come,” a Fox News insider told Vanity Fair.

The comments appear to suggest there may be more women who have not yet come forward publicly with stories of harassment.

CNN “New Day” host Alisyn Camerota also said early Thursday that there is “more to come” at Fox News, where she worked for 16 years.

“I know a lot about the culture, and my friends there, there is a feeling that … there is actually more to come, that this isn’t the end.”

In the past on social media, Hannity had been a staunch defender of Fox News’ former chief Roger Ailes:

If this is Fox News’ next move, it’s a major shakeup for the cable news network that has dominated prime-time ratings slots for years. Unlike the other cable networks, Fox News has always treated conservatives fairly and they have a loyal fan base. But it’s hard to imagine what Fox News looks like without Sean Hannity.
