Rep. Ilhan Omar defended her colleague Rashida Tlaib claiming her insensitive Holocaust remarks were taken out of context as a means to “eliminate” Muslim voices.
If anything needs to be eliminated it’s the voices of the ignorant, regardless of their religious affiliation.
Rep. Tlaib (D-MI) outrageously suggested in an interview last week that she gets a “calming feeling” when thinking about the Holocaust because Palestinians created a “safe haven” for some Jewish people.
The statement is both insensitive and historically inaccurate.
Since that time, Democrats have been running cover for Tlaib, insinuating her comments were taken out of context and demanding apologies from Republicans for pointing out that she is an anti-Semite.
Omar To the Rescue
Omar (D-MN) came to Tlaib’s defense during an interview on MSNBC’s ‘All In’ with Chris Hayes.
“I tell my sister, Rashida Tlaib, that her and I have the strength to endure any of the mischaracterization or efforts to distort and vilify and mischaracterize our message,” she stated without evidence.
“I think we are seeing what happens when people really see these kind of attacks for what they are,” Omar added. “It is designed to silence, sideline, and sort of almost eliminate public voice of Muslims from the public discourse.”

“I’m really excited that we have an opportunity to build alliances and push back and fight this attempt to marginalize our community’s voice,” Omar added.
They’re Both Extremists
Omar and Tlaib share many common bonds, most notably that of being anti-Semites who despise America. Both, rightly so, have been called out for it by President Trump.
“Democrat Rep. Tlaib is being slammed for her horrible and highly insensitive statement on the Holocaust,” Trump tweeted. “She obviously has tremendous hatred of Israel and the Jewish people.”
Likewise, he hammered Omar for saying 9/11 was just an event in which “some people did something.”
Tlaib lashed out at the time saying any criticism of Omar is rooted in racism.
“This is just pure racist act by many of those, hateful acts, by those because she does speak truth, when it talks about different issues that they don’t disagree with and I’m really outraged,” she seethed at the time.
Now, Omar agrees that Republicans are trying to eliminate Muslim voices.
Not true, they just want to remove bigoted, anti-Semitic, anti-American, pro-terrorist ignorance from the mouths of our elected officials. Is that too much to ask?
