Olympic gold medalist, alpine skier Lindsey Vonn, has a few words for President Trump – ‘I don’t represent you.’

Vonn was asked a setup question by CNN’s Christina MacFarlane about what it will feel like representing the country being led by President Trump. It should be noted, this question would never have been asked if Hillary Clinton was elected.

“You’ve previously competed at three Olympic games under two presidents,” MacFarlane asked. “How will it feel competing at an Olympic games for the United States whose president is Donald Trump?”

“Well I hope to represent the people of the United States, not the president,” Vonn responded.

Huh … She must have missed that whole election thing where the ‘people of the United States’ chose Donald Trump as their president.

The alpine skier wasn’t done hurling some shots at the president either.

“I take the Olympics very seriously and what they mean and what they represent,” she said. “What walking under our flag means in opening ceremonies.”

“I want to represent our country well and I don’t think a lot of people currently in our government do that.”

MacFarlane then asked, “Would you accept an invitation to the White House if you were to win Olympic gold?”

Vonn responded without hesitation, “Absolutely not.”

“I have to win to be invited,” Vonn added. “No actually I think every US team member is invited so no I won’t go.”

MacFarlane tried following up, “So definitely for you it’s …”

Vonn cut her off, shaking her head and reiterating “No.”

This is just plain silly. As an Olympic athlete, you represent an entire country, its leader included. President Trump was duly elected into office. For Vonn to snub him like this is not just disrespectful of the president, but it’s a slap in the face of every voter who participated in the election.

It’s always the same in these situations: Liberals pretend to want unity, yet they insist on driving us apart by stubbornly clinging to partisan politics.

We are all Americans, and Donald Trump is our president. Vonn should recognize that, and stop trying to divide us.
