Obama Administration Allowed Hezbollah to Run Cocaine Into the U.S. to Secure Iran Nuclear Deal

It sounds like a tabloid headline, but it isn’t.

In a shocking expose by Politico, former Obama officials have been accused of shutting down a task force targeting a cocaine operation run by the terrorist group Hezbollah, in an effort to secure the Iran nuclear deal.

The Hezbollah terrorist organization, backed by Iran, reportedly developed into “an international crime syndicate that some investigators believed was collecting $1 billion a year from drug and weapons trafficking, money laundering and other criminal activities.”

The Drug Enforcement Administration led a campaign called Project Cassandra to battle the drug trafficking group, but officials claim the Obama administration hindered their efforts. By doing so, they paved the way for Hezbollah to increase cocaine smuggling into the US.

DEA agents, the Daily Mail reports, “claim the Obama administration stopped them arresting key figures linked to Hezbollah as an agreement on the Iran nuclear deal approached – and scrapped Project Cassandra entirely once the terms were agreed in 2015.”

One top Hezbollah operative named ‘Ghost’ was allowed to operate despite being under sealed indictment for years. ‘Ghost’ is known by agents as one of the world’s biggest cocaine traffickers, including a history of operating within the U.S.

Take that in for a moment – the former President of the United States allowed a cocaine smuggling enterprise backed by a terrorist organization, which was in turn sponsored by Iran, to flourish in America, effecting a countless number of lives, all so he could lay claim to a farcical nuclear deal.

Legal Insurrection’s William Jacobson writes, “We knew Obama was willing to sacrifice Israelis for the deal, now we know he was willing to sacrifice Americans too.”

Perhaps Obama was willing to do anything to secure a deal – including something that had the potential to kill more Americans. Perhaps he didn’t see cocaine as a major threat because he admitted to using it in his book, Dreams From My Father.

Or maybe it was both.

“During the negotiations, early on, they [the Iranians] said listen, we need you to lay off Hezbollah, to tamp down the pressure on them, and the Obama administration acquiesced to that request,” one former CIA officer told Politico. “It was a strategic decision to show good faith toward the Iranians in terms of reaching an agreement.”

The Obama team “really, really, really wanted the deal,” the officer added.

Jacobson asks, “How many Americans got hooked, overdosed, or died on Hezbollah cocaine so Obama could get his Iran nuke deal?”

This is a remarkable news story, quite telling that an organization like Politico did the investigative work on it.

Will the rest of the mainstream media report on it?
