REPORT: North Korea Preparing for EMP Strike on United States

For years, North Korea has thumbed its nose at the international community, repeatedly testing its missile and nuclear capabilities as a show of force. Despite North Korea’s increased hostilities in recent years, previous administrations have failed to properly reign in the “Hermit Kingdom.”

Despite past White Houses underestimating the North Korean threat, President Donald Trump is determined to solve this crisis, working with Chinese President Xi Jinping to pressure North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un to give up his nuclear desires.

Although the United States and the entire international community is concerned about North Korea’s conventional military capabilities, a new report suggests the regime is contemplating using an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) strike against the United States.

From Daily Mail:

There are fears Pyongyang is secretly developing the ability to detonate a high-altitude nuclear weapon in space, setting off an EMP that would knock out electrical systems down below, with catastrophic results.

North Korea has two earth observation satellites launched in 2012 and 2016, each taking about 94 minutes to complete an orbit of the earth.

Dr Peter Vincent Pry, executive director of the Task Force on National and Homeland Security in America, warned that North Korea is positioning its satellites in a ‘nuclear missile age, cyberage version’ of battleship diplomacy ‘so that they can always have one of them (satellites) very close to being over the United States or over the United States’.

Pry, also chief of staff of the Congressional EMP Commission, told Breitbart’s Aaron Klein: ‘Then if a crisis comes up and if we decide to attack North Korea, Kim Jong Un can threaten our president and say, “Well, don’t do that because we are going to burn your whole country down.” Which is basically what he said.

‘I mean, he has made threats about turning the United States into ashes and he connected the satellite program to this in public statements to deter us from attacking.  ‘If you wanted to win a New Korean war, one of the things you would certainly consider doing is taking out the United States homeland itself.’ Pry suggested Pyongyang may be taking its inspiration from a plan the USSR drew up to attack America with an EMP during the Cold War.

Up until now, the idea of North Korea using an EMP strike against the United States has not been widely talked about, however, this new report could dramatically change how the United States deals with the rogue regime.

An EMP attack could have potentially catastrophic results on the United States, resulting in thousands of death and the crippling of our infrastructure. The United States’ best hope is that China, which traditionally has helped North Korea stay intact, will work with President Trump to dissuade the rogue regime from continuing to pursue nuclear weapons and other forms of military action.
